ESGR Bosslift

27-29 April 2005 KY ESGR hosted a "Bosslift" trip for employers and supervisors to military training sites where they observed National Guard and Reserve members on duty. The purpose of the trip was to provide the employer with a better understanding of what their Reserve Members do when they are away from their civilian occupation for duty with their military units. Employers see firsthand the type and quality of military training and leadership activities National Guard and Reserve members receive. The highlights from the trip included a visit to: Naval Air Station Jacksonville – visit the third largest naval installation in the United States – home of the Atlantic Fleet’s Antisubmarine Warfare (ASW) – observe both P-3 "Orion" airplanes and SH-60 helicopters up close Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia – home to the Atlantic Fleet’s Boomer (Trident Ballistic Missile Submarines) Fleet Naval Station Mayport – homeport to 22 Navy ships, including a visit to the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67)*
