BMAC Family Assistance Network (BMAC-FAN) is a community civilian resource network established to facilitate support for families and friends of military people on active duty.

The goal of BMAC FAN is to help family members and friends who are not living on or near a military installation to cope with the unique stresses of military life. 

The purpose of BMAC-FAN is to:

·        identify community organizations that can utilize their resources and mobilize their volunteers to assist military families in the Central Kentucky area

·        develop a directory of community human service organizations, businesses, churches and government agencies that are available to assist military families

·        make the directory available by phone and on the Internet

·        solicit local businesses to make special promotional offerings on merchandise and services to military families

·        encourage community organizations to establish support groups for military families

·        provide a calendar on the Internet where military families can learn about local support group meetings, presentations, social gatherings and community events planned to help them cope during the time their family member is assigned to active duty

·        to provide individuals and community organizations with information about how to volunteer to assist BMAC FAN

BMAC FAN will help

• military families new to the community to meet other military families and develop friendships, become learn about pertinent information and locate community and military resources
  
• build peace of mind for those in uniform who will be reassured that their family is being supported on the home front, allowing them to better focus on their military mission
  
• the community unite for a common patriotic purpose:  to help our nation become a safer, more peaceful place to live

Some services coordinated through BMAC FAN may require that family members have an official military identification card or deployment orders to participate.

BMAC FAN is not a:

• babysitting service
  
• welfare organization
  
• professional counseling agency
  
• taxi service
  
• finance institution
