The Bluegrass Military Affairs Coalition (BMAC) is a growing community based nonprofit organization with headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky. It is a non-sectarian, non-partisan civilian organization of patriotic individuals, veterans, business, government and veterans organizations, and all branches of the United States armed forces.
The purpose of BMAC is to:
- promote the awareness of our military
- educate the public about the armed forces of the United States of America, their state of readiness, contributions to our safety and preservation of our freedoms Annually, BMAC conducts three patriotic events for the community:
- Armed Forces Week
- Veterans Appreciation Week
- Pearl Harbor Commemorative BMAC assists annually with several Memorial Day services.
During the school year, BMAC members who are veterans volunteer to speak to students in grades 4-12. In November, BMAC partners with NLUSCKC to present a Youth Education Program for 2,000 students and teachers at Heritage Hall at the Lexington Civic Center. BMAC periodically presents forums to the community for military officers to talk about the state of the armed forces of the United States.
